I requested the replacement medals of my Grandfather from the National Personal center, and included in the letter I included a picture of cloth ribbons that my grandfather saved (that were once sewn onto a uniform) as well as a copy of DD214. I received an envelop from them today with nothing but the picture I sent them in it. I'm curious why they would do that. Are they just returning it to me? Or is that their way of rejecting my request?

I assume they were just returning it to you, as they don't use photographs to verify awards.

Send an email to usarmy.knox.hrc.mbx.tagd-ask-hrc@mail.mil and explain your situation
