I'm curious. The fuel for wild fires in dry parts California contains a lot of flammable creosote. What type of vegetation is burning there?

Gum trees full of Eucalyptus...which is flammable. Pretty much all the plants and animals have fire adaptations (the ones that don't disappeared long ago) The Gum tree, deliberately makes the fire burn up the tree quickly and burn hot but also fast, so the middle of the tree is unaffected...of course if there is a Koala or lizard up there too, they are getting burnt. - They have done clearing and burnoffs during the "windows of opportunity" earlier in the year, but firefighters admit even those areas are still going up...the crux here is the drought...everything tinder dry it just explodes into flame.
Theres been a lot of focus on fire bugs too, with many fires deliberately lit...(theres an interesting psychology there)

Many human fire bugs but not all...
