Russia helps Britain repair Belfast WW II cruiser

A team of Russian shipwrights has helped Great Britain in repairing the legendary Royal Navy light cruiser Belfast. New foremasts and mainmasts have been installed. Great Britain has estimated the project at more than 300,000 pounds, though London is not paying a penny of the whole sum. Russia has repaired the ship ‘as war thank you’ for its services during the Second World War. The Belfast cruiser was part of the Arctic convoys that supplied the Soviet Union during the war.
