What were some targets for Soviet aircraft when they were operating over Germany in late 1944? Not much air to air combat late in the war, I would suppose. What about things like train yards or depots? Wasn't Frankfurt attacked by the soviets via the air?
August 8th -9th 1941 : attack on Berlin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_air_operations_during_the_Battle_of_Europe During the war the Soviets employed 7500 bombers to drop 30 million bombs on German targets, with a density that sometimes reached 100–150 tons/ sq kilometer.[14][15] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_warfare_of_World_War_II#Soviet_Union:_Soviet_Air_Force
There had to have been other cities and countries than just Berlin they attacked.. Soviets had many different types of bomber sand fighters by then.
The Soviets and their airforce was focused on supporting the Red Army. Just review the lists of "Bombers" produced. They are not so many 4-engine, long range Heavy bombers. P-10 MIR2 DB-3 / DB-3F Su-2 Yak-4 Che-2 Pe-2 Pe-8 (4-engine bomber) Er-2 (Jer--2) Tu-2
Ya the Soviets mainly focused on interdiction and ground support. Truck killing is very dangerous work. The Germans had excellent anti-aircraft guns and vehicles and alot of them to boot, as they are fairly cheap. The triple 15mm mounted in a half-track was murder.
