Santanalysis 2013 - ​

Objective

Characterize and interpret unknown objects designated P1 through 5. Urgent identification has been requested by G5 planning section to prepare measured response to incursion and respond in proportion before 24/12/13.

G8 believes inadequate response this period may lead to significantly higher expenditures and logistical difficulties same period 2014.

Technical note P1-5

P1 through 5 have been observed by friendly forces in area of HQ commencing 17/12/13. Believed origin COS/CIC - unconfirmed. Aerial observation has been inconclusive due to heavy dazzle pattern camouflage employed and their positioning under heavy tree cover.

G2 humint sources have dried up in recent weeks and we have reason to believe a maskirovka may be in place. All communications through normal G6 channels are considered suspect. G2 recommendation for manual inspection by SOE operative cleared 20/12, partially completed night 20-21/12. Believe further inspection by operative unwise due to undue risk of harm to operative.

Results follow

Inspection concentrated on objects designated P1 and P2. P3 through 5 upon rapid inspection appear QM issue mufti - disregarded.

P1 dimensions 6 x 16.5 x 23.5 cm.
P2 dimensions 6.5 x 17 x 23.5 cm.

Exact dimensions difficult to recover due to camo covering, exact weight impossible to ascertain due to COS/CIC discovery of disappearance of bathroom scales.

P1 is heavy and inflexible, P2 slightly heavier, also inflexible. Information from agent Amazon supports interpretation of hardcover operations manuals. Acquisition of these intelligence documents high 2IC priority.

Conclusions and Recommendations

Advise redesignation of P1 to TTGOS/DMG
Advise redesignation of P2 to AIS/DMG
Advise 2IC moves to operational stance WOO/HOO.
Advise 2IC reconsiders reciprical arrangements to avoid COS/CIC offensive 25/12/13.
Advise a political response to P3-5 to he prepared in advance.
