The Shield Wall medal (Schutzwall) was established on 2 August 1939 and 622,064 times attributed to individuals (such as workers of the Organization Todt) who collaborated in the work of defensive fortifications. "For the protection work of Germany." Can be read on the other side of ribbon.

The West Wall medal is a nice one. I have one that the vet who it was awarded to-gave to me about 10 years ago. This vet in particular is still alive--in his 90s, and he served as a crewman on U 181.
