I don't think you should have done that, Siberian! Now that spam ship's mad, and it's gonna smush your fleet. Literally. I'll try to hail it and see if we can ally (or at least be neutral) with it.

Some of us are in different time zones and do sleep occasionally....

Anyway, you should know that spam only allies with eggs, chips and beans (if available)

Don't see your point, it doesn't have to be live posting.

    Curses, we only have donuts!

Well, I'll try setting up a neutral zone then.
Siberian: I knew we should have brought some chips instead of all those sweets! Now I have to hire a dentist aboard my ships because so many crewmen are coming down with tooth decay!
PS Even if a neutral zone cannot be set up between the Earth and the spam homeworld, the first rule of engagement in my fleet is "Do not fire until fired upon".

Still no word from the spam ship, so I'll say again: I wonder if we could set up a neutral zone between Earth and the spam homeworld.

    A recent ship design:

    Buccaneer
    1200 metres long
    Crew: 2800
    Armament: 2X forward-mounted super particle lasers, 15X ship-mounted disintigrators, 5X transphasic torpedo launchers, 5X concussion missile launchers, 95X point-defence lasers, 50X interceptors
Defences: High-capacity shields, 11 metre thick tritanium hull armor, classified layers of additional shielding
Onboard craft: 100+ fighters, 1X mine ship, 10X shuttles
Propulsion: Hyperdrive, impulse drive, slip drive

The Buccaneer class ships are planned to become the backbone of the Terran Federation. The Buccaneer is equipped with 2 super particle lasers-not as powerful but certainly more practical overall than a superlaser. The super particle lasers are normal particle lasers turbocharged and backed by a blast of turbolaser energy, making it a high-gigaton long-range weapon. The Buccaneer's transphasic torpedoes were obtained from the hulk of an alien ship of unknown origin. One torpedo has blasted a fully shielded dreadnought to bits. Other large capital ships will also be equipped with these. One day it may be feasible to create transphasic/flux hybrid torpedoes. However, flux technology is estimated to be a century, even multiple centuries ahead of Earth tech, so it will be a long time. A much smaller version called the Buccaneer Type II has been planned. Only 180 metres in length, the Type II version is very manuverable and is equipped with many the same weapons as other ships.

    Buccaneer Type II
    180 metres long
    Crew: 80
Armament: 2X Type VII pulse cannons, 25X point-defence lasers, 3X concussion missile launchers, 12X interceptors, prototype cloaking device
Defences: High-capacity shields, 6.5 metre thick tritanium hull armor,
    additional layers of classified shielding
    Onboard craft: 5X shuttles
Propulsion: Hyperdrive, impulse drive, slip drive

The Buccaneer Type II is a new escort craft designed to supplement the older Marauder class. The Buccaneer Type II is more advanced, but also more expensive, so they cannot completly replace the Marauders. The Buccaneer Type II are equipped with Type VII pulse cannons, which are more powerful than the Marauders' Type VI cannons. Although much smaller than several types of frequent Earth military ships, the Buccaneer Type II has the advantage of manuverability, and it has a prototype cloaking device allowing it to sneak close to enemies without alerting them. This makes these craft perfect for infiltration and stealth recon.

    Marauder
    160 metres long
    Crew: 74
Armament: 2X Type VI pulse cannons, 18X point-defence lasers, 2X concussion missile launchers, 8X interceptors, energy mines
Defences: High-capacity shields, 5.9 metre thick tritanium hull armor, additional layers of classified shielding
    Onboard craft: 4X shuttles
Propulsion: Hyperdrive, ion thrusters, slip drive

The Marauder class had been the majority of the Terran Navy's escort force for decades. These highly manuverable craft were very effective in safeguarding larger, slower vessels in a battle fleet. They can also double as mine ships, laying well-camoflauged energy mines in asteriod belts, around planets or even on starbases and space stations themselves. As the Buccaneer Type II came into service, it was planned to phase these vessels out of service, but the Marauders were still cheaper to produce. Thus, these two types of vessels serve alongside each other in the Terran Navy, and they will probably ssupplement each other for many years to come.

I was thinking about making an RP with the ships that people made up in here. Although it might not get too far.

I think the thread will be as long as its first post. These RP's just don't work.

Probably unless we suddenly have a whole load of new members that love this stuff.

Unfortunately that's probably truer than we know. Still, never hurts to try (unless its something stupid like using a dud round as a hammer)

If you really want to get into RP'ing try the 2kinds forum (2kinds.com/forum) the comic is probably a little mature for you (I can think of a least one I've skipped.....don't ask) but the people are (mostly) friendly (except Sage.....you didn't hear form me) and it's a good place to make friends, I find. Lot of regulars.

    Titan 4
    18 kilometres long
    Crew: 800,000
Armament: 1X Thunder Axe II superlaser, 2X omega cannons, 4X medium antimatter cannons, 4X super particle lasers, 900X point-defence lasers, 100X ion cannons, 110X disintigrator cannons, 15X transphasic torpedo launchers, 24X concussion missile launchers, 80X tractor beam projectors, 120X plasma beam emitters
Defences: Primary and secondary regenerative shields, emergency tertiary shields, 20 metre thick tritanium hull armor, additional layers of classified shielding
Onboard vehicles: 500+ fighters, 52X shuttles, 5X Buccaneer Type II class starships, 60X boarding craft
    Propulsion: Hyperdrive, ion thrusters

The Titan 4 is another Olympus class space station designed to protect Earth from invasion. No shipyard will be able to accomodate it, so orbiting drydocks will build several space station modules. Once completed, specialized craft willl tow the modules into position with tractor beams. The Titan 4's predecessor, the Olympus, was also built this way. The Titan 4 is capable of fending off a full-scale assault on it's own, although an array of warships are also permanently stationed there. It's primary and secondary shields are regenerative to a huge scale, and what they can't regenerate they can sustain. The emergency tertiary shields, though not regenerative, are extremely redundant. Due to this new technology, the Titan 4 can stay in battle longer than even it's counterpart, the Olympus. The Titan 4 can unleash an arsenal including antimatter cannons, transphasic torpedoes, and two omega cannons, so powerful that their exact energy output remains top secret. The Titan 4's purpose, like the Olympus, is to guard Earth, but has a hyperdrive just in case.
