And the release date is... the D-Day! 6th of June. Semper Fi release date set! D-Day June 6th! - Paradox Interactive Forums
Wait a second...the only Marines at Normandy on D-Day were snipers operating off shore aboard cruisers or larger ships. No Marines participated in the European D-Day invasion on 6 June 1944. I dont get the use of Semper Fi in the name here. What am I missing?
I was just asking last night if a release date had been set. Tex the title Semper Fi is being used as the biggest improvments in the game are to the island hopping campaigns in the Pacific. If you still want a reason though, I could forward the Marine Aviators still bombing the reminants of the Japanese fleet at Midway.
Yes, the Semper Fi comes from the improvements made to the game and those improvements should be mainly for Pacific theater of war. We'll see what happens, hopefully this expansion will be worth "Semper Fi"!
Okay folks, I've been reluctant to try HOI3 after some early negative comments on the Paradox forums, so is this the time to jump in and give it a go? Because I really love HOI2 Doomsday. Does it still have the powerful scenario editor?
You should give it a try, at least now that Semper Fi comes out. I think you should wait for the expansion and play the game with it.
as far as I know there isn't a scenario editor for HoI3. HoI3 isn't as much about the scenarios as HoI2 was.
If true, this will keep my from buying it. I like to tinker with things, such as what if Germany had a small but steady flow of iron that she didn't historically have? What a shame they left it out.
No, you can edit all of that, trust me. I am not quite sure what he means by 'Scenario'. The Scenarios (Road to War, Barbarossa, etc) are all still there I am quite sure. If by Scenario you mean 'events' that occur in game, then yes - you can edit them just like the rest of the game. Its all in .txt files like usual.
HoI3 has like 4 Scenarios I think, and HoI2 had several, again, if i remember correctly. I didn't say you couldn't edit anything in HoI3, it just doesn't have an editor like HoI2 had (not that I've found anyways) you have to edit the game files directly, though its not all that hard.
