Senator Daniel Inouye Comments:- At just 17 years old, Daniel Inouye rushed to the site of the Pearl Harbor attack to provide medical aid for the wounded. He went on to join U.S. Army's 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the famed "Go for Broke" regiment of soldiers of Japanese ancestry where he earned the Medal of Honor "Please remember that the story of my experiences during World War II is by itself not important," Senator Inouye wrote in 2003 to a girl who had visited him in his Washington office. "Much more significant are the values that the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and other segregated units represented: that patriotism and love of our great country are not limited to any ethnic group, and wartime hysteria must never again lead us to trample on our democratic principles." Comment to be remembered by all of us!! Sgtleo
Hey Sarge, My father was a much decorated hero in WW2. Post war, he left much to be desired. Inouye is amongst those for whom term limits should be created.
LCP -- What makes you say that about Inouye? Although I do not know much about him, what I have seen has always impressed me.
I don't like Inouye's politics either, but he is a real American patriot with an outstanding military record anyone (even John Kerry) could be proud of!! In fact the whole 442nd was exceptional! Go for Broke! One of my best friend's Dad served in it! Go For Broke National Education Center - Preserving the Legacy of the Japanese American Veterans of World War II
