they are for all intents and purposes 98ks in a different caliber, they were made in Japan and fire an 8X52 Rmm Rimmed cartridge. gun afficianados like to get one and rebarrel it for 45.70 which is a rimmed cartridge, I am hoping to sell mine to one of these people for a price that could get me about two or three ordinary 8mm 98k mausers. or trade it off for a few mauser 98ks. mine is in good condition, I bought it from someone who didn't know what he had.
