OK, I'm the first to admit to being an inveterate relic-hunter - I've picked up bits and pieces all over Europe but even I'd draw the line at some things.

I saw this on a re-enactors area at Beltring last weekend and photographed it just to post here. 'Bath Removed From The Home Of Jochen Peiper'.

Well. 'Jochen Peiper's personal sidearm' - I could go with. 'Steering Wheel From Peiper's Half-Track' - I'd be OK with that, too.

But an old man's bathtub removed from the ruins of the house he was murdered in ?

I thought that was rather sad.....

I thought it was quite funny in combination with the tub used by Churchill displayed alongside it. I had visions of a putative WW2 bathtub museum:

"Fetish" might be a more accurate description.

At least it wasn't a toliet. "The throne upon which WSC pondered some of his deepest war plans."

Ya know, Adam, I could've gone all....day.....long without the image of WSC perched over that porcelin receptacle, veins straining against the skin of his brow and the quietness of the night punctuated by valsalva- induced grunts.

Well, when the original home ( when they were poor ) of the football star Wayne Rooney family was torn down everything was stolen as souvenirs starting from the toilet seat... nothing has changed... ;)

Hi Kai, absolutely morbid. Ugg, taking a toilet--now that's just something that is up Michael Jacksons alley.
