I thought it was hilarious, especially that last part "just so you don't end up like that."

Great ad, it really moved me!
However, I would like to replace 'farmer' with 'miner', but I suppose hard work create a special breed of men!

I've been biting my tongue not to make a similar comment. An Italian owned, taxpayer subsidized auto company is running an ad promoting the American farmer? Really?

It's all in the marketing folks. I grew up around true farmers, even spent some time in the fields myself, and in all the years of baling hay, plowing or cultivating acres upon acres of cropland I never saw a new truck on a farm. After a few months of farm work if that six month old truck didn't have dents-scratches-crumbled bumpers-a crack on at least one window and enough wheat chaff, mud and cornstalk pieces in the cab to fill a King size mattress the guy was considered a 'slacker'. Oh and coffee stains on the "new" upholstery.

Paul Harvey on the other hand is an American Classic.
