so you think a tank commander is hard to get in a collection?

It took me about ten years to gather the elements to assemble this 1940 French R-35 tank commander from the 406th .

Note his beret with the tankist insignia and the regular collar tab. His dotgag should be around his wrest, but it's such a nice two-colour officer model that Ijust couldn't hide it. The berets were usually shrunk with hot washing, but that too I couldn't do.... The ultimate result is fairly close to reality although instead of boots many officers prefered shoes . The leather belt could be worn around the coat too, but considering this is a June 1940 uniform , I tend to think they like to be able to remove such a warm coat when it was too hot. I also have the helmet, but it's on another mannequin.
I may actually change his trousers and boots and "give" him a wide bourgeron model fitted with shoes instead of boots. I may also add a scarf.

    Very nice.
I imagine it's rather hard to resist wearing that jacket day-to-day (if it fits).

It does fit, but it's a bit battered and several buttons are missing

Well, I have replaced his officer riding trousers by tankcrew workpants and the officer boots by private boots (laces are missing and the model is not the very one I'd like, but good enough for now. I also fit the belt around his waist , to make it look as close as possible as the guys on the pictures. I even notriced that some of them put their lether coat inside the trousers!
