   I have a German bayonet with a clear plastic grip. I know that this was something a GI did, But I was going to replace the palstic grip with a wood one. Any way should I do it?

   Personally I would leave it - it is a piece of history as it is.
   
   Plenty more bayonets around if you want one in original condition.
