    Anybody remember more about a picture than me? The guy in the suit is truculently refusing to leave his office, so two soldiers pick up chair and all and haul him out of there. He was refusing to comply with wartime regulations of some kind. This may have been someone associated with Sears, but that part's even vaguer than the rest.

    So, was Montgomery Ward under contracts with the Fed to produce goods? Uniforms or something?

    I think it was a dispute over labor rather than production issues. I haven't looked at that pix since the '90s. (checks wiki) Yep.

    Like that. Don't know why. Soldiers carrying Daddy Warbucks. It stirs emotion in me. Did I see that pic in a Life mag?

    Yep. First time I saw it was in the Time-Life WWII books.

    Remember reading old Life and Pop Mech while being babysat @ Grandpa's. Prolly where I got started on the whole WW2 thingy.

    Sort of cute pix...the very young imperial federal government flexing their muscle over America industry. Sigh.
    (At least the SCOTUS ruled the NRA unconstitutional....then)

    Now we dont even bother to read bills...we just pass them to find out what's in 'em
