Unfortunately, today is the last day of no school for me before I begin Community College at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona. It's been a good summer for me, with vacations to Glacier National park in Montana, San Diego California, and Dallas Texas for my sisters wedding. I had my 18th birthday in the beginning of the month, and had a great 4th of July street party. Because I will soon be fully involved in schooling, and will likely have 20 to 30 hour work weeks from now on, I will not be on the forums as much as I have been these past few months. This is a good step forward for me in life, and something I'm pretty excited for, there will most definitely be hard times, but nothing I can't handle, and nothing God won't help me through.
Yes, for right now I'm going to major in communications......but that could very well change in the future.
When I started college they told me that the majority of students who declared a major changed majors before they graduated. CC's are a good place to look around and find what really interest you without spending a fortune in the process. Good luck and have fun.
While schooling is serious, don't forget to have fun, too. If you aren't sure what you want to pursue, explore. Now is the time to do it. Stop in when you can and let us know how you're doing.
Thank you all once again for your kind remarks, thankfully I have some time to spare today as the first two days are light in school work for the most part, and I don't have to go to work immediately either. Today was my first day of college, and it was actually pretty enjoyable. I saw plenty of old faces, and met many new ones as well.....including some very cute fellow students . Most of my classes this semester aren't all that difficult so long as I study and keep up with work, so that is also a nice way too start the college life off. I will keep you all updated, and will most likely lurk here and there for short periods of time during the week, while being pretty active on the weekend.
Have fun and join a frat. Try Tappa Kegga Brewe or I Phelta Thi. That ought to keep things real for you through mid-term.
<---- Alumni of Tappa Keg back in the early to mid-80s. I probably would have joined an actual frat, but my parents "didn't want to pay for my drinking buddies." How little they knew. I also rushed Phelta Thi and another little known frat, I Ata Pi. We won't talk about that one. Good success to you, JJ.
Usually, those who rush Tappa Kegga Brewe go on to IP Freely later on. It's way out on the edge of the campus, by the Yellow River.
