I was thinking about that war a few days ago. They make such a big deal about the unmanned flight vehicles of today, but in 1973 they were using them to get the Egyptians to fire their ground to air missles at drones instead of the Israeli A-4 Skyhawks. They made the drones so as to have the same radar return as a Skyhawk.

So the use of unmanned drones is at least 35 years old.

They also used them for gunnery practice in WWII. The Culver Company made a line of drones for the military.

A major war frequently overlooked...largest amphibious operation and tank battles since WWII...

Gee, what timing. Isn't Israel sabre rattling just now? Maybe this stuff contributes to 140$ barrel of oil....What are the odds of an attack (on Iran) before GB leaves office?

And what does Iran,GWB, and Oil have to do with the 73 war? In the 73 war Israel was the one that was attacked by Egypt and Syria. Not the other way around. If you want take your comments to the Free Fire Zone.

    "THE EGYPTIAN/ISRAELI WAR 1973"

Help me out here, is that the one where all of Israel's peace-loving neighbours got together on Yom Kippur and attacked without provocation, in the hope of pushing the Israelis into the sea?

......and ended up getting "the mother of all hiding" in the process?
