It would be interesting to see if any of us now feel a reluctance to travel abroad. For instance, those going to USA concerned with tighter and changeable security checks and inevitable delays at airports or Americans to Europe troubled by terrorist attacks.

The strategy page has reported that more Russians are vacationing in Israel and fewer in Egypt due in large part to security concerns although it also helps that Russian is fairly widely spoken in Israel as well.

I have not been yet so I am excited. My neighbor is Israeli and told me while laughing that nearly half the residents are Russian speakers. Has anyone in here been to Israel?

Not been to Israel myself but my brother in law though Scottish for generations has a dark complexion with 'Arabic' features and had all but a full body search on arrival. There were also armed guards on the plane.

A good friend of mine went not too long ago. May have saved her life. She had an unknon heart condition that surfaced while she was there. Fortunatly there was a cardiac nurse in the tour group who knew what to do and where to have her taken. Medical treatment was first class. If she had been at home alone things could have been a lot worse.

Several people who post here have mentioned being there in the past. I don't remember exactly who though.

    Hope you enjoy your visit.

Not surprised to hear this. Israel security focuses on profiling.... Right or wrong it works. I remember reading somewhere that they have the best airport security and have never had any problems on their planes or in airports for that reason.

Never. It's lack of Baksheesh that stops me travelling.

Doesn't change a thing. Wouldn't think twice about about a trip overseas. I'm not going to stop my journey through this life hunkering down in my home. Too much to see and enjoy.

My wife and her girl friend got back today, a couple of shopping days, my wife and I are going down on Sunday for a couple of days (free room from casino). We go down probably once a month.

    No problem.

    Great country, wonderful neighbours.
