Colditz and Sagan are high on my list of wish list trips. Great pictures, thanks.

Any suggestions on the best way to do both - by driving. What's the area around Colditz like?

The whole area around Sagan/Zagan became a training ground for the Polish army.

We flew to a little airport about an hour's drive from Colditz. Colditz is a beautiful little village. Good restaurants and bars. The drive to Sagan is about 3 hours. 2 hours on great German autobahns and an hour on truely awful Polish roads. You can't do more than 40kph on the Polish motorway because the road surface is just dire!! Good Hotels in Sagan and the Polish motorway back to Germany is new and as good as German roads. It took us about 2 and a half hours to reach Berlin and we flew home from there. Very easy trip!
