    when a thumbnail appears with green/red arrows, click on to break off, and see relevant information, then click continue to go back..

    this is not a 2 minute animated map...but tells the story thro the years well, giving very good detailed information on the way too, enjoy...great for schools too..:)

    The Great PATRIOTIC War, Operation Barbarossa etc, not THE Great War (WW1)

    DAMMIT, the map will not work at least on this purter grrrr.

    A few years ago someone did a great one about the Battle of Stalingrad. Ray, if you can find that one? please do so as its excellently done.

    I don't know how I managed to miss the original post, but this is superb. For someone like me with only sketchy knowledge of the Ostfront, it is indispensable. Thanks for posting this Ray. Right into my bookmarks. The extra material and summaries are a great help.

    Yes, in my country the period of time from 22nd of June 1941 till 9th of May 1945 is called Great Patriotic War.
