If you were a soldier and you had to pick a main weapon, and an assault sidearm, what would you choose?
    For me:
    Main weapon: AK47
Assault sidearm: Browning Hi-Power modified to fire .40 S&W cartridge

(I was gonna' say M16A2, which was my favourite rifle, but then I decided against it because the AK47 was more rugged, although less accurate.)

Main: AK-47 with sniper attachment (increases accuracy)
Sidearm: 9mm handgun (.50 cal handgun just seems kind of cheap to me)

Although if we could have any weapon....

    What?

I'd take one of the accurized M-4 carbines done by the USAMU for the rifle role and probably a Glock 22 or a Hi-Power in .40S&W for a side arm.

Yeah, a Desert Eagle does seem a bit cheap. So I'll say no pistols larger than a Colt .45, my new weapon of choice.

there were 2 made in .45 for testing by the us army but we went with the colt/browning 1911.

    only one 45 luger remains

oh and early lugers were 7.65

Main weapon for me would probably be a FN FAL or an M14
    Side arm probably a H&K MP7 or a Glock (18 I believe) in .40

I'd have an AK-47 and a Desert Eagle.

I think I banned Desert Eagles because they're too unfair. I mean, .50 cal. shots trump all other handguns ever made.

Depedns what you're looking for I think. I was merely pointing out that i thinkn a .50 cal handgun was kinda cheap...doean't make it cheap for anyone else.

.50AE will have its downsides, ie. controlability, the recoil of such a large round isn't very controlable and it might be better to go for a smaller projectile

Okay, then, I think I'll allow Desert Eagles again.
