Well, hings looks a little different don't they? I'm very pleased to say that we now have malware free, super-slick, fat-trimmed version of the WW2 Forums! I'm sorry for the downtime, but we needed the breathing space to properly resolve our security concerns and address the new direction of the site. This new, much more muscular version is as bare-bones as possible. I think only the smilies make it through this techno-crucible, and not even all of them at that. In time we will slowly plug all the pieces you were used to seeing (gallery, chatroom, tournaments, etc), and continue on the road of quality historical discussion and research. Thank you all for your generous patience and I hope we can hit the ground running. Heck we've been at this since 1999, no little nefarious script cracker is going to stand in out way. Onwards!
Thanx Otto! The new look is great, although again it takes a while to get used to it. Good to hear the problems should be gone!
My pleasure Kai-Petri, I'm just sorry it took so long. The new look is the stock layout, and we will be getting a customized WW2 skin in the future.
New look is interesting, as soon as some of the old features are re-implemented everything will be perfect I know some forum builds support the ability to allow the user to select from multiple skins. I don't know if vBulletin can or not but I see no reason why it couldn't. Can you say country specific themes?
I certainly love the idea of a clean forum for all, however this 'stock' skin has got to go Otto. Looking great mate, can't wait for the finished project.
Never thought I'd agree with Robert; but, the stock skin is a little too "vanilla". I do like the "Better, Stronger, Faster" feel.
Otto you are a computer Guru! Great job, I really like the user friendly look of the site. I hope this will draw many new members. Great you got rid of the gremlins too
Well done Otto, though as the others say, the stock skin must go. I also hope the latest post feature thing on the bottom of the previous forum will return .
I see the Icons are in B/W, will they eventually be coloured? and I see the salute post Icon is replaced by reputation one, a star Icon..
I don't care what it looks like as long as it's back. It's the content and members I came here for, they're still here, so I'm good to go! Thank you Otto for providing the forum. It must truly be a labor of love for you to put up with all the headaches.
It's back! It's back! It's back! Woo-Hoo! Aww crap, I have to go to work soon. Oh, well, taking the good with the bad. At least I have something to look forward to when I get home.
Just seeing all the familiar members names, and avatar makes it feel just like the old forum, so I agree, it doesn't matter what it looks like, the heart of the forum is in its members and we have a great group of rouges trustees, moderators and administrators here on this forum.
I'm with Robert. It does not matter what it looks like, its the people and atmosphere that matters most. Change isn't always a bad thing. Thanks again to Otto for all his hard work!
Thanks for all your hard work Otto! I think I can speak for many here by saying that not hanging out here for at least a few minutes a day makes me edgy from going through withdrawals. : )
Thanks to all; Now my computer doesn't toss a hissy fit about malware when I try to log in. Good job!
