The Rise of the GI Army - Paul Dickson You'll come away really appreciating the brilliance of George C. Marshall when you read this one. Our Army was a mess before WWII, and this book details how it got HUGE and world class in record time. A truly amazing feat. The Rise of the G.I. Overall pretty good and definitely evocative, but it suffered from a large number of mistakes regarding the Army and its organization and terminology. I should have noted them down as a I read, but I was reading for pleasure rather than review.
