What do you guys think of Austria's 9mm Steyr GB pistol? Do you guys think it's superior to all the other 9mm pistols out because it has an 18-round magazine capacity? And do you have any comments about it?

Magazine capacity in pistols is not really that relevant in any kind of military situation since any situation that cannot be resolved by about a dozen rounds from any pistol is not likely to be solved by a great many more.

Larger capacity magazines tend to increase the bulk and weight of a loaded pistol notably, one criticism of the Para-ordinance pistols I can recall was that the larger magazine meant a larger grip which in turn made it more difficult for those with smaller hands to use.

In all honesty with most modern military type semi-automatics there is really very little to chose between, except if there is serious issues with reliability, safety or quality. Mostly it comes down to personal preference, ergonomics and economics. Do you like it? Is it comfortable for you to use? And last but not least - Can you afford it? If the answers to all these are yes, then regardless of anything else it's a good choice for you. If the answer to any one of those is no, then equally regardless of anything else it's not a good choice.

I've always rather like the look of the Steyr GB, but it lost out to Glock for the Austrian Army contract and never recovered from that.
