    Yamamoto lost some fingers on Mikasa and the British Naval Attache gained much mojo when he refused to retreat to the armored control tower during the Tsushima brawl.

    Yamamoto was on the armored cruiser Nisshin.

    I have heard it slightly differently...In that Pakenham had his uniform bloodied and soiled by a nearby Russian shell hit, and that Pekenham went down below changed into a clean new uniform, and went back topside. This impressed Togo.

    Nimitz, as captain of the USS Augusta, attended Togo's funeral in June, 1934.
