Does anyone live close to Tournai, Belgium and could help me locate a memorial honoring men of 30th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop (Mechanized) killed in action 2 Sept 2010?

The men were 1Lt Frederick I. Haldiman, SSgt Francis E. Scott & T/5 Walther E. Dennis.

    Skipper,

I've not found the momument on any site. I'm not 100% it is there. Old Hickory says there is one there and he is wanting to see a picture of it. He was good friends with two of the men and had passed the crossroads where they were killed a few minutes earlier.

To answer your question, yes, I can be patient, and I will accept any help I can get over on that side of the world.

Skipper, what is the likelihood that someone in the city government would be able to understand a letter written to them in English? I'm guessing that probably there would be.

What office would be the best to write to?

The Flemish mostly speak English , the Walloons..... sometimes. It's certainly worth a try, not to mention I speak both languages mentionned.

Old Hickory spent several weeks in late Sept-early Oct 1944 there and got to know several people there very well.

I'll tell you what I am doing and why I am asking these questions via PM.
