I was going through a grouping of a S/SGT when I came across some orders that were for "Stations Available for Assignment of Trainees". As I was going down what hit me was Tuskegee AAf. Ala. (Colored Only). We all know the stories and have seen interviews of these men and what they went through to be able to fight for their country. Maybe I was just surprised to actually see it in print. Interesting to see it in print. I had the opportunity several years ago to attend a talk by one of the airmen. He had some pictures and other displays in addition to his talk. Stirring, but also sad. They went though a lot to participate. The same was true of segregated troops. My father's unit was attached to the 92nd Division which was a Black unit. The Nisei were also attached to this division.
