Great pictures, Erich. I still don't know what would persuade anyone to get into one of those things.

This mans image is framed on the wall above my toilet ..he always makes me smile when I'm sprinkling the pan . Girlfriend hates the photo . Just imagine what this man would have thought , if he knew in the year 2010 , an Englishman was sending his image right across the globe . I'm hoping to have a chat with him in the afterlife ....

Hello Erich , I dont think I have photos of the ship you are after ...yep U-boats ..my aim is to build a strong u-boat archive , but as you are aware they can be very pricey .
Have you seen my WW1 U-boat Photo album ? I'm sure there are plenty such albums in collections but I have not seen another one on the open market ..it features U-25 and its surface attacks on merchant ships ..3 original photos of its commander Otto Wunsche ( blue max winner )...I also have a WW2 U-boat commanders personal photo album ..it belonged to Herbert Bruninghaus who skippered 3 U-boats ...in his earlier years he served as navigator in U-38 , under u-boat ace Heinrich Liebe ..I have Liebes original signature in the album ...I got the album cheaply , but unfortunately , turned down the opportuntity to buy all of Bruninghaus medals . awards and documents /paperwork ..I did not have the 1000 pounds that was being asked .
Sniper ..i'm only 2 years into collecting ..but its something i'm pretty passionate about . I'm not a wealthy man , bought most of my albums below market value ...some I have been very lucky with ...spent lots of time hunting ...5am starts at bootsales ..lots of legwork round fairs ...I also now have a good network of trusted dealers .
I'm even in the position now where people are giving theiralbums to me ( British Military albums ) ....

Jim I almost strictly deal in KM S-booten arm but also in the Destroyers and minenschiff of WW 2. big passion in the German Luftwaffe of which two relatives served and both KIA and this remains the bulk of my research and hundreds of photos.

the reason for my asking about the U -Boot tender which made it almost to wars end is that one of her C.O.'s also served as CO of the S-Boot tender Tanga after she first on to ocean so this got my curiousity up.
