I was wondering if someone could tell me where I can find & how to use a free (?) version of a PDF to Word or HTML converter program ? I have been going through the CD's I have of the 348th FG and would like to reformat the more interesting pages. There are many pictures with names & a few maps that I'd like to post. I do have the "Kompozer" program but need to convert to HTML first. I think.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Give up or hire a twelve year old, anything else could lead to a SWAT standoff. :)

If you play around with a recent version of Adobe you will find a Word converter under the tools tab. Most of the WWII era PDF's I have aren't very clean, so you get a lot of gobbledy-gook (a technical term) in the conversion, so you still have to go back and make a lot of corrections.

As for images, there may be a simpler way but I've just googled convert pdf to jpg and used several different free programs. You can then embed the jpg in a Word document and format as you wish.

You can save a Word file as HTML under the "save as" feature. I've never done that, but its one of the options.

Thanks guys. I'll give all these options a try. Eventually :) There are a couple thousand pages in the CD's and I don't look forward to retyping them like I did for the 348th thread. If I'm not seen around here you'll know I have either figured it out or I've been hit with a bug. The grandson will be in second grade this year so I might wait until school starts and ask him.
