One of my uncles who passed away in 2005 was a crew member on the Cabot and they operated
with Admiral Halseys essex class carriers from january 1944 - end of the war in the Pacific. They
saw continued combat and had damage from a kamikaze that killed about 50-60 crew members.
The Cabot carried about 50 aircraft - hellcats, avengers, and dauntless dive bombers. I remember
on this memorial day week end. Also two other uncles both deceased - one serving in the Navy in
the Pacific and another served in the North Atlantic, North Africa, Italy, and invasion of southern
France - also Navy. Bravo Zulu !!!!
