Can anyone direct me to an "official" site online that explains the what and how of this thing? It is stamped "MX-138A/A" and "ARMY STOCK NUMBER 277562-138" and date stamped "JUN 1, 1945." I have one in my library that I'm putting on display for our annual Midway commemoration.

If you Google "Vendo Life Raft Rescue Radar Reflector" You'll find any number of articles on this. "Official" is in the eye of the beholder. An accurate document is usually good enough.

I've searched online and found very little information about this particular model. Sure there are articles about rescue radar reflectors in general but nothing on the Vendo MX-138A/A.

"Official" information would be something from the company that produced them.

I've sent a request for the information directly to Vendo.

    Sounds like a plan.
