Yes, correct. Althought we cant talk about "class" when only this one prototype was made. Still looking for the name...
It had the look of a personal photo, I tried looking up hovercraft of Finland but if it is a one off no wonder I didn't find it. Okay try this
I have no idea. Absolutely no idea. No class, no country. Only that it might be built bethween 1900 and 1920. And to get back to that hovercraft, its called "Tuuli" (Wind). Displacement 90 tons Lenght 27.4 meters Width 15.4 meters Speed 50 knots Power 6000 KW Crew 10 Class cancelled due to changed naval doctrine, prototype offered to sell abroad.
That was a real giveaway hint. "Dynamite Cruiser" Vesuvius http://www.hazegray.org/features/vesuvius/ http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNUS_Zalinsky.htm
Well, actually, I haven't started going thru Hazegray, warship1 etc before that last hint. But my turn now: What is the longest range at which a Royal Navy vessel has ever fired upon an enemy? (only gunfire counts, no missiles). Which ship, which gun?
Ship on ship: HMS Warspite on the Italian battleship Guilio Cesare range 26000 yard approx. (23,770 m) Ship on land target: HMS General Wolfe engaged a railroad bridge at Snaeskerke at a range of 36,000 yards (32,920 m)
Latter one was the one I was looking for. First one is longest gunfirehit to other ship by RN but is it longest range ship to ship -shooting RN has ever took part? By the way, did HMS General Wolfe actually hit that bridge? (these aren't part of the quiz, I just want to know these)
I've read suggestions that the range between the two Scharhorst class battlecruisers and the British carrier Glorious might have been longer, but it is impossible to be certain. I have no idea whether the General Wolf took out the bridge but I did find a nice set of pictures of someones model of the ship here http://www.steelnavy.com/BolyaiShow2004AG.htm
What ship is believed to a scored the most hits with a single salvo? Ruling out any post WW2 engagements
Yes unfortunately the ship hit was the USS Atlanta What was the position of the three survivors from the battlecruiser HMS Hood.
