I am interested in finding out if the B-24 Liberater, Destiny Deb, serial number 42-78170, was ever salvaged or was it destroyed or forgotten after being shot down over Romania (?).

The ship was destroyed. Per the MACR, it was hit by flak and the #4 engine was on fire. The crew bailed out and the ship was seen to explode and go down in flames just west of Ploesti. All ten crew members survived.
