I am a researcher, writer and co founder (I think) of a website on the technology and equipment of WW2. Our address is www.wwiitech.net and we currently have a good team working and a good set of articles up. We enlisted most of our researchers/writers through posting on forums asking for interested parties to come forward (our record was 25 replies and 1 person who could actualy write articles). Anyone can help in some small way no matter how much you know. If you specialise in a particular field, such as german firearms, russian tanks, italian artillery or french aircraft you could become a fully fledged writer and have your articles posted as and when you finish them. If you have an extreamly large library full of photographs of WW2 equipment we can always use photographs for our site. Even if you are not a WW2 buff then take a look and let us know what you think of the site as a whole (and maybe even vote for us on the web rings we are a part of). Even if you don't think you can help take a look, we have a forum and a monthly newsletter (which should be going out soon) to which you can subscribe if you wish to hear what is going on with the site on a regular basis. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us, Stefan
I might be able to help you. But all of my articles would come from information in books or magazines I've aquired, not necessarily from me. I'm not sure, really, how to cite all that.
That is how we all get our information, unless of cause we were there. basically, it involves doing resrherch on what ever sudject you are writing about, putting it all together and writing an article in your own words. If you want to know more, contact me or Stef. I have lernt more about german tanks since i started writing than i have learnt in the last 10 years.
Hi, journeyman, thanks for the response. As martin said we gt most of our stuff from books and publications, there is no other way as none of us have actualy driven a Tiger, flown a Spitfire or sailed on the Bismark (though I am sure most of us would be up for it if anyone can arrange it). On the other hand it is possible to add a more personal element to articles using information from biographies or things you have been told by veterans. If you want to help either leave a message on the forum or e-mail our webmaster (his address is on the contacts page). Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
