webpage re: former Berlin Imperial Palace

    For those interested, this webpage:

    contains pre-War images of the Schloss Berlin which was heavily damaged in WW2 and eventually tore down by the DDR. There is currently a widespread debate going on in Germany wether or not to rebuild the palace in its former glory. You will see from the pictures that this would be a monumental undertaking, not to mention the cost.

    Why rebuild it? No current monarchy in place. Too heavy a price for a tourist attraction. It would not be original so it may not attract that many tourist.
