My top five would be Kate Bush, Rammstein, Queensrÿche, Depeche Mode and David Bowie.

Besides them : U2, Sisters of Mercy, The Mission, Dalbello, Judas Priest, Van Halen ( the old stuff though, not the "Van Hagar" stuff ), Björk, Metallica, really old AC/DC ( with Bon Scott ), Accept ( nothing like good old German Heavy Metal ), just to mention a few.

Yes! You got Rammstein in there! Woooo! :D
No I'm not a hardcore fan, but it is one of the few bands I know that have not made a whole lot of bad songs and only a couple of good ones.

Typical, apparently, for WW2-interested people to like Rammstein. or it could be the fact that, even though no one ever talks about it, most people just like this kind of music. It's a lot more open than other hardrock music.

    cooooooooool

    :D :) :p  ;)
I wonder that we all share almost the same musical preferences. I agree with all. Maybe Rammstein is a little simple for me. My favourities: everything from art-rock and progressive-metal (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, U2, Iron Maiden, old good Beatles, Metallica, Mike Oldfield, J. M. Jarre, Vangelis and many more...).
Does anybody know Pink Floyd's album The Final Cut? I think it's most anti-war music ever published. I came out in early 1980's as a reaction on war of the Falklands and Thatcher's governement wasn't really glad. Or the old Iron Maiden songs like The Prisoner, Tailgunner, Aces High...?

Pink Floyd is probably the best artist of all time. Nothing like playing Welcome to the Machine real loud.

Rammstein is about the best band on the rock scene today. They sing in German though, so I´d guess they aren´t too well know in the U.K.

Well I said ALMOST any sort of music... :D ;) No just kidding. As a matter of fact, I don't exactly know what should be called country music. Can you mention a name of a countrygroup which is likely to be known in Holland?

Any kind of music where the singer sings about his dead dog, his recently burnt down house, or his wife leaving him. :D And sorry, I don't know of any Dutch country singers (I think it is only an American thing)

    to moonchild:

that album, the final cut,on my own opinion it the most disapointed, we expected a better material coming from the Famous Pink Floyd so after my brother got it and listen it I said forget it!!!! :bang: :bang: :bang: but then they produced: A momentary lapse of reason, and that is another story!!!!! :smok: :smok: :smok:
