Wings of the Luftwaffe: Me-110 (Title's a bit misleading though, since it also covered the Me-210/410, the Ta-154 Moskito, and briefly the Do-335 Pfeil).

I watched "Jarhead" last night on dvd (Netflix). Not bad, but not quite what I expected to see.

Maybe I missed it, but at the end when it showed the various platoon members after the war, surviving members were at a funeral. In the casket was the spotter for Wofford. How did he die?

I hate that damn movie. I have yet to meet any Marine that liked it. Nathaniel Fick, the author of "One Bullet Away" has some choice thoughts on good 'ol Swoff.

I, personally, would go out of my way to punch him in the head.

That movie is an amalgamation of cliche.

I do not like the guy.

Hi Richard, fully agreed. Oh and Jaws-is Richard Kiel-who was great in Strange Brew-. BTW, he is still alive and is always mistaken for Ted Cassidy who played Lurch in: The Addams Family. Cassidy is long sense deceased unfortunately.

Forgot to mention that he (Richard Kiel) was great as one of the Inmate Football Players in the origina version of: The Longest Yard. I loved this scene he was in after the bald guy (I know his name just cant think of it at this time) punched him in the nose breaking it during one fo their practice plays. "He broke my (freaking) nose. You saw what he did, he broke my (freaking) nose".

Though I have yet to see any of the Fantastic Four movies. It was nice to see that Ioan Grufudd (sp?) was in it. I also liked him in his Titanic role as well as all the Horatio Hornblower movies.

I did some subsequent reading on the movie and the author, and came to the conclusion that he had an ax to grind in the Marine Corps a$$, and did it with a book and a movie. There were some believable parts sprinkled in the flick. I could definitely identify with the scene when Wofford got his head slammed into the chalkboard by the DI, and the days on end of boredom. Hopefully there will be no sequel to this thing.

Heh heh, you can get a copy off ebay for about $5 bucks ;-)) Also add to your possibles future list: 36 Hours, Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, Escape From Colditz, etc. Did you ever get a copy of Decision Before Dawn-- yet? That is one not to miss out on ;-))

Cant get any better than watching Duke and the others in TLD. ;-))

I just finished watching "Grand Torino." It was very good, but not your everyday Clint Eastwood movie that's for sure. Take a look at it if you get the chance, I give it two thumbs up (it's all I have)!
