    @CAC

    That's a North American AT-6 Texan/SNj two-seat trainer. I recognised it as a North American Harvard trainer and it would have been if it had Commonwealth markings rather than American ones. Huge numbers of these were built during and after WWII.

    Yep Commonly called a Harvard Texan to cover all bases…Australia’s first ‘fighter’ the Wirraway used many Texan parts including the engine when we were desperate to defend ourselves…

    There’s an old story of how one man, one designer sold his aircraft design to the US, Europe and Japan…And we see its offspring all over WW2…
