Hey fellow modelers, I am making a fairly large diorama and was wanting to have half of it covered with tall field grass. What is the most economic way to do this, woodland scenics? The scale is 1:35, and is 4'X4'.

    Thanks!:)

one way could be using a pop or beer can and cut strips off the can and paint it green. I have not tried it but I have seen a few wood carvers do this for bird dioramas.

Check out this website. You'll probably be able to find what you are looking for. A little spendy on some items but well worth it. I'll have some of my 1/48 German gliders displayed with some of the meadow variety when I get them finished up.

The sight was great! Thank you! Right now my wife is showing me how to knit, there is some great yarn for grass too that I've found, but man I feel like a girl.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

Sisal or hemp rope with the top end just swept through Elmer's glue and sprinkled with sawdust. It looks just like tall grass with seed at the top if you do it right. Takes a bit of practice to get the technique down.
