This has got me baffled - I too straightaway thought 'Supermarine Type 300' or even 'SpeedSpitfire' but the 'chin' air intake seems to rule it out...
Its looks vaguely like a Heinkel prototype I saw in a book once...but Im pretty sure its British because it also looks like a Spit.
Admittedly I'm not the strongest on planes, but the nose part of the plane strongly resembles a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk-so that's my vote...
I have no idea... It looks like a mixture of P-40, Heinkel 112 and a Spitfire! Where's Erich to solve this problem?
Friedrich : I wish I knew. It looks quite fast ! Julio : is this possibly an Italien protype during the 1930's ? E
It looks to me like one of the first prototype Hawker Typhoons. Fitted with a 2 bladed prop from a Hurricane. They did test the basic airframe concept with various engines. I've checked Janes All the Worlds Aircraft 1938, and it wasn't there. Pity it hasn't got any markings. _____________ "It's as if an angel were pushing you......" Gen. Martin, yes. It could be a Hawker Tornado. I've never seen any photos of one but it does have a slight Hawker look about it. __________________ "Flying is more than a sport and more than a job; flying is pure passion and desire, which fill a lifetime". Adolf Galland
...but the elliptical wing, undercarriage and tailplane have a distinctly 'Spitfire look'... I am really baffled !
Maybe it's a Hurrifire or a Spitcane, or a Spitphoon ?? ___________ "I would rather have one Me-262 than five Me-109's"-Generalleutnant Adolf Galland in 1944.
Well, I'd certainly use it as a spitoon, certainly wouldn't want to fly in it. Look at those landing legs. They look like they'd snap at the slightest bump. _______________ "As a fighter pilot, I knew from my own experiences how decisive surprise and luck can be for a success - which in the long run only comes to the one who combines daring with cool thinking". Exactly, sniper! They look just like Friedrich's legs when he plays basketball: they just do not work AT ALL!
