    Answer- None of them.

    Manstein praised the SS for their "verve in attack", but serving in an SS unit often meant an 80% casualty rate, or more if you were surrounded. Their officers would not quit, and they could and did go "battle mad" on occasion, just like an average Soviet unit was wont to do.
    They might have had the pick of the best equipment, but their officers STANK, and service with them was not only a far more likely chance of death or injury, but a virtual death warrant if captured, especially by the Soviets.
    Liebstandarte, Das Reich, Totenkopf, Wiking, Frundsberg, and the rest....I would much rather be in a regular Heer unit.

    It was 1985, and it was a WWII history class. You could get away with so much more in the good old days.

    ..I gave a presentation to a grade school about 5 years ago....had all my militaria with Knight's Cross, hitler-Hindenburg pin, etc ...I was surprised I wasn't on the news for EVILNESS
