I have always admired the caps of German Officers. They were quite elegant looking...the way they kind of rose up to a point almost. Very distinguished looking...especially when compared to what USA Officers wore.
But almost a counter to that were the white caps worn by the German Sub Captains.
Those caps were very cool...had an almost casual, and "baggy" look to them. Not as formal or as proper looking as an SS Officer. But they had their own charm.
A U-Boat captain definitely stood out in a crowd. Would love to own one of those white caps. I am surer they must be pretty coveted among collectors these days.
