A pretty boy indeed! Thought of you on my recent travels, especially at Pegasus Bridge, Overloon, Helmond and Venray. Well done that man.

How does one address a Chevalier? As a grubby yank, I'm not keen on titles, especially inherited titles. However, a Knight of the Legion of Honor is an award based on merit. Such a man deserves any honorific that accompanies it.

So, would one (in a formal situation) address you as Chevalier? Or, is there an English equivalent that one would use? Is it gauche of me to even ask?

Formal address would be, on introduction, 'Le Chevalier Brian Guy'.

    Thank you, Toki!

Le Chevalier Brian Guy. That has a nice ring to it! Makes me think of Cesar Romero in Donovan's Reef. And Brian looks a bit like Cesar Romero, don't you think?

What a nice thing to come here and read this. My sincere congratulations Brian, or rather Le Chevalier Brian Guy, I agree with KB , it has a splendid ring to it.. And Ron, always a pleasure to see you here as well.

    Warmly,
    Gaines

You look good, but all those medals kind of drag the right side of your lapel down.

I can just imagine you propping up the bar...........a lull in the conversation .......then you pipe up ' I know Le Chevalier Brian Guy, personal friend actually'. Think of the kudos you would get. (May try this myself)
