Who's that with MacArthur???

    I'm watching The World At War episode "Pacific"...and have just seen the famous clip of MacArthur coming ashore on Leyte, and later arriving in Manila.

    On both occasions he was accompanied by an aide wearing a solar topee instead of military headgear. He appears to be quite an aged man.

    Can anyone tell me who he was?

    that little guy is gen. carlos p romulo who headed the fourth UN general assembly, later became secretary of foreign affairs to two philippine presidents. he recounted that the waves at the beach were threatening to go over his head.

    The guy liked the Montreal Maroons. They played their last game in '38, then suspended operations(Philly tried to get them in '46, but could not fund a new stadium)...So they guy time traveled forward? Big deal, I go forward in time every second, of every minute, of every hour, of every day.
