    "Wake Me When it's Over "

    Ernie Kovaks, Dick Shawn & Jack Warden
    "Gus Brubaker has been drafted... again. Due to a clerical error, Gus finds himself deployed to a little Japanese island where everyone is bored to death. So Gus decided to build a hotel and hire locals to run the place."

    I'm not saying it's the worst but I had to look it up to remember the title.
    Actually the more I think about it, a damn fine movie ! Think I'll try and find it .

    Dunkirk was potentially a good story that was poorly depicted.

    Thin Red Line was geared toward social anthropologists. A social anthropolgist to me that and she enjoyed it. I didn't but I'm an poorly educated slob.

    That's the issue. If you only watch one thread in the movie it moves along better.

    But how was he flying a Spit with no engine? (Check it when it's burning on the beach.)

    The whole "rolling barrels of gas down hill as an anti-tank measure" is ludicrous. ~6 pounds per gallon, 55 gallons, that mumble pounds per barrel. Kinda hard to aim, too.

    Agreed. Ironically, Joachim Peiper whom the Hessler character was based on, died by fire when his home in France was torched in 1976.

    I can't tell you the name of the flick, but I was surfing the stations looking for a way to waste a Sunday afternoon, and I come across a movie that was just starting. It was an American patrol, sneaking up on some German Bunkers. Ok, good start....but within five minutes they were engaged with SS Zombies.....And I have to tell you if there is anything that I hate it is a SS Zombie...
