here in the US they are going ot begin construction on the Huge World War Two memorial on Veterans day 2000. But there is an arguement if you have heard of it on whether the Monument should be constructed on the National mall. This would suggest a split in our nations history because the monuments are built chronologicly. WW2 monument supporters including Tom Hanks are feircly oposed to placing it in the other designated spot. View of Memorial Arch and Pillars from Ramp View from Across 17th Street View of Memorial Arch and Pillars from Plaza Rainbow Pool site at the east end of the Reflecting Pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument I think that it should be placed in the other location just because this represents a Schisim in our country rather then bringing it togther, anyone have any opnions? ------------------ Out side is America!
I agree. By placing the memorial in the above location, it would negate almost every prior monument. In the entire mall area, just about EVERYTHING has a purpose and/or symbolizes something with a reason to be where it is. However, it has been long overdue to officially remember America's WW2 veterans in Washington.
People think not as many people will visit it if it gets the other lot. Which is not the case just as many people will visit and bring a larger flow of tourists to the area. (i think the other location is by the Tidal river)
Where? I could get you the symbolisism of everything for ya probably if ya want. Everthing means something on it. ------------------ Out side is America!
