A selection of WW2 Tank Training Films our ancestors are sure to have watched.

Thanks for these goes out to all the people who are archiving this historical record on YouTube.

Bear with me here, as I try to group these. But by all means, if you know of any particularly good ones, especially foreign language, please, please feel free to post them.

Slot one reserved for an hour long British compilation I watched recently but am having difficulty relocating.

    Edit:
I am just stumped. Unable to find THE film that was THE reason for this thread. Sigh...
Google (which owns YouTube) tossed it into my suggested watch list.

I have used every possible variation of search terms over the last few days, to no avail. Looked up the night before last and it was 5:30 AM. Yikers!

If one of you happens to trip over it, please, please toss it in for me.
    - It was a collection of three films put together including, as I recall, MK 1 through xyz .... early Churchills, with a bit thrown in on Armoured Vehicles.

Friend or Foe: WW2 British Army Tank Identification Training Films circa 1940. (26 Minutes.)

Thanks for this goes to http://www.youtube.com/user/PeriscopeFilm?feature=watch

"A series of training films that feature tanks and other armored vehicles.
In this case the purpose is not only to familiarize soldiers, weapons and tank crews with the history of the tank, but to prevent friendly-fire incidents.
Within these films you'll see a wide variety of mobile weapons systems used by the Royal Tank Corps. and Royal Tank Regiment. These include Crusader, Matilda, Challenger, Valentine and other tank models."

It starts off with a few minutes of WW1 Tank clips.

Early war years Military training and information film about halting tank advances (11 Minutes)

Thanks for this goes to: http://www.youtube.com/user/HuntleyFilmArchives?feature=watch
(Although I hate the fact that they insist on splashing their logo all over the center of length of every film. I would like to know who claims responsibility for this policy...)

A Silent British "Military training and information film showing tests of obstructions designed to halt a tanks advance, possibly just prior or in the early years of World war two.
Tank under examination is not very good and gets stuck continually and has to be towed out of ditches etc."

One of the other films that was THE reason for this thread.

An interesting early WW2 German Training Film on how the Infantry could best engage Russian Tanks.

(For the life of my, I can not identify the first tank in this film. It is not the T26 or the T26-1931. Definitely early war... I suspect it was likely filmed during the German / Soviet cooperative years.)

Thanks for this goes to: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePanzerWarMachine

The Russian Army captured this film and reused it. It's counterpart is posted somewhere, subtitled in English teaching Russian Red Army Tanker crews on countering Axis anti-tank infantry tactics.
    - Again, I have been unable to relocate it. I - or hopefully one of you, will post it here when and if we do find it.
