We have a very fine war memorial uptown on our square. It has the names of brave men and women who have served their country, proudly...But in order for their name to be included on the memorial wall, you have to pay several hundred dollars. That makes me sad because my father can't have his name up there also. But who can afford such a cost nowadays. You would think they would put the names of "all" that served, up on that wall for no charge, at all.But it is just for those who can pay.To me that is wrong! They sure were proud to build it . But not proud of how they manage it!!- Fredonia, Ks. 66736

The small town where I use to live has a Veterans Memorial and asks for a donation of I believe $50.00 to add a family members name. That is at least "do-able" in most cases.
