Hurrah for Kellys Heroes, best attempt at making a Tiger from another tank, and a good film. Most war films I have watched tend to be very dissapointing and unrealistic, I prefer documentries. Possible exception would be Battle of Britain & Carve Her Name With Pride. Although I also enjoyed Ice Cold In Alex. The Tiger in Saving Private Ryan was built on a T34 Chassis, and was (and might still be) displayed at the Royal Armoured Corps Tank Museum at Bovington in Dorset. Excellent T.V War documentries....... Ray Mears The Real Heroes Of Telemark. Dunkirk (as previously discussed) One who's title I can't remember but focused on B.E.F & B.O.B September 1939- September 1940.
Please tell me at least someone has seen "When Trumpets Fade". This movie is both gorier and better than Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers put together.
No, it's a movie about the Hurtgen Forest battles, low budget and no famous actors at all but very very well done.
I have that movie in dvd, is kind of bloody but it shows the cruel reallity of war and the human been dehumanized
Precisely, I agree with you on everything you just said. To picture what this movie is like, consider this scene: a lieutenant walks up to a captain, the latter asks him what the status of his platoon is like. With an unstable move and a horrified look on his face, all the lieutenant does is hand over a handful of blood-covered dog tags...
or the one that sandy is asked if he smoke and he said no, the others says at the endo of you shift you will
another movie that I like , but do not have it, lost the tape 3 years ago along many others movies, is the last bullet, have anyone see it?
I'm bringing this one back up, there's a lot of new members out there who might want to add to it. Last night I re-viewed "When Trumpets Fade" and I am now frimly of the opinion that it is the best WW2 movie ever made when it comes to realism.
in The longest day all the u.s troops on ohmaha beach are killed out right when charging up the beach
Hi everyone! Long time since my last post on this forum.. I have seen the When trumpets Fade 3 times I think. I like the movie cause it's realistic. Like Roel says. It shows how it really was. I can recommand it to all of you who are a interested in a piece of ww2 history. It shows a kind of 'forgotten' chapter of the American ww2 history, if I can say it that way... You get it very cheap at amazon.co.uk I believe.
Hi , Can you tell me a Second World War Video where you can see a Panther Tank in the battle or a good tank battle video
There used to be a communist TV show about a T-34 tank crew, when I look back at it, some parts were rather silly. Roughly translated to english, title of the show was 4 armoured and dog. I makes more sense in Polish. But Iam pretty sure that there were some good tank battles. AND yes there was a dog as part of teh crew.
