I've found these WWII bomb craters near Escalles on google maps: https://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/world-war-ii-bombing-craters/view/google/ Does anyone know which bombing campaign they were part of/when exactly they would have been dropped and who by??
I don't know for sure, but a good candidate would be Operation QUICKSILVER, which included bombing the beach area around Calais.
To me it looks like a site for a fixed V1 or V2 site, it appears that the Allies carpet-bombing the area and its look also confined to an area that looks like it might have been hiding something.
Have you checked the 8th Air Force site to see if they have a schedule of bombing missions online? Ditto RAF, of course.
